Polished Concrete
Polished concrete is a multi-stage process whereby the floor is ground-back, honed, and polished with the use of specialised machines and bonded abrasives in order to cut into and reveal the floor’s new concrete surface.
It is then incrementally recut and polished with a subsequently finer grade of abrasive with each cut in order to achieve a refined and glossy appearance.
This process also includes the use of a penetrant chemical known as a hardener. The hardener penetrates into the concrete where a chemical reaction takes place to make the floor surface more dense, as well as harden and dust-proof the surface.
Dyes designed specifically for polishing are often applied to add color to polished finish as well as other options such as scoring, banding, bands and borders, and other designs as well.
During polishing, the surface is processed through a series of steps utilising progressively finer grinding tools.

Concrete Grinding
& Honing
Concrete grinding can be carried out by two methods, wet or dry and its purpose is to remove stains, irregularities and imperfections from the surface using a highly durable abrasive tool with a diamond attachment.
This may include leveling or flattening the floor surface for enhanced durability. Concrete grinding quickly removes up to 3mm of material with a single sweep. Varying grinding attachments allow our professional grinding operators to work in depth to achieve your required finish.
Grinding removes paints, dirt and any other remnants from the concrete surface leaving a smooth finish.
Concrete Sealing
- Increases the concrete’s longevity.
- Improves appearance.
- Adds to the value of your property
- Reduces spalling (Concrete Cancer), flaking, and cracking.
- Protects against oil spills and other stains,
- Mould and mildew resistance.
Concrete is a porous material, and like most things under our harsh Aussie climate will age. Oxidation from the sun can begin to break down the concrete at the most basic level, causing it to age more quickly, sometimes resulting in chips or flakes or even spalling, more commonly known as Concrete Cancer.
In colder areas of Australia, moisture that penetrates the surface can freeze and thaw continuously causing the concrete to shift, crack, and even heave or buckle and mould and mildew can build up on the surface of unsealed concrete.
Good news though, these situations can be reduced dramatically by simple driveway sealing by SA Resurfacing.
A high-quality and professionally applied sealer will lock out moisture and will also block the sun’s harmful U.V. rays and protect the driveway from those oil spills and stains for up to 7 years.

Epoxy Flooring
Epoxy flooring is a specialised coating which is a mix of polymer based resins and hardeners, that when applied to concrete flooring,
creates a smooth, shiny or satin surface that brightens the space from the ground up. The durable
and visually stunning appearance makes it a perfect choice for most residential and commercial applications.
Epoxy flooring is long-lasting, durable and far easier to care for and maintain than standard paint. It is waterproof and has excellent resistance to wear and abrasion, coping easily with the day to day house hold use and large volumes of foot traffic.
Burnished Finished Concrete
- Life-Span.
- Easy to Maintain.
- Cost-Effective.
- Many Design Options.
- Sanitary.
- Slip-Resistant.
- Chemical-Resistant.
Burnishing concrete is a process that uses a specialised high-speed
machine called a Burnisher that rotates at around 1,500rpm
to 2,500 rpm.
The Burnisher’s aim is to heat and melt, buff and finish a chemical product on the surface.
This action fills the small pores in the surface with the applied chemical by melting and dispersing the product, and finish with a surface lustre.
It has been used for many years in industrial buildings,
carparks and warehouses, but is now increasingly also being used in residential and commercial buildings.
The application can incorporate colouring dyes, and/or staining for a spectacular finish.

Paving
• Easy installation process
The installation process of pavers is clean quick and straightforward and once the installation is complete, you can start using the area almost immediately. There is no need to wait for the area to sit and dry out.
• Safety
A paved driveway area is a safer zone to walk and drive on. Due to their rough textures, pavers are by their make-up skid and sleep resistant.
• Shades and Varieties
Pavers come in a variety of colour options to choose from. Whether you have a new idea, or just want to complement the shade of your existing home, the options are many.
• Easy repairing
Pavers are very easy to repair as well. If by any chance, they get damaged or a section needs to be removed, you can simply replace it. It is always best and recommended to hire a professional and experienced tradesman who can assist you with this.
